The world-famous Charcoalblue will be involved in the design of the future cultural and social centre

Bratislava 19.9.2019 – Theatre, music, art and technology connect communities, inspire new ways of thinking and enrich lives. The world-renowned Charcoalblue expert and consultancy studio behind the design of the Royal Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Society in London and the World Trade Centre in New York is a guarantee that the new Istropolis will offer artists the best technical conditions and unusual experiences for visitors.

Theatre, acoustics and digital design runs in the blood of London Charcoalblue studio. Team experts come from a variety of areas and provide comprehensive project leadership for individual projects, including layout solutions, involving public spaces and conceptual design services from design, stage to technical equipment and facilities. Apart from that they provide world-class acoustics and digital design consultancy.

„We are moving our promise to maintain the cultural and social function of the Trade Union House working with Charcoalblue to a higher level. We want to bring the best that the world of acoustic and technological interior design of cultural and social halls offers to Bratislava. After years of absence, the people of Bratislava will be given a magnificent cultural venue to be proud of, ” said Martin Šramko, Immocap CEO, the owner of the plot of land under and around the Trade Union House in Trnavské mýto.

„We are really excited by this project. It is rare to find such commitment from a client with an ambitious vision to create a bold new venue that will be the heart of a new urban district. We are impressed with the diverse high calibre of the design and client team of the KCAP architectural studio and delighted that each partner is given a collaborative voice. Unusual at this early stage in a project, is the element of trust that prevails throughout the project team,” said Gavin Green, co-founder and Senior Partner at Charcoalblue.

Thanks to the flexible modern cultural space, Trnavské mýto will become an important new city centre, which will be the natural centre of the local community and attract visitors not only from the surroundings but also from neighbouring countries. Public spaces will be accessible to visitors throughout the day, while conditions will be created in the square to support and develop community activities such as various cultural events, seasonal activities and markets.

„This project is an exciting opportunity to redefine an important part of the city. The purpose of the emerging space is to draw people together, for them to share an event or experience collectively and create new memories. To accommodate a wide range of functions within the one room, we are proposing a highly modern, dynamic and flexible hall, one that has character and an architectural personality,” said Gavin Green.
