In cooperation with the capital city of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava, we are starting work on the Trnavské mýto subway from Monday, 16 October 2017. This will be divided into several stages and the subway will remain accessible with partial restrictions. Immocap will invest EUR 2.5 million and the capital city EUR 1.2 million. By the summer of 2018 Bratislava’s residents will enjoy a European-standard modern and refined subway.
„Although Trnavské mýto is an important transport and social hub, it’s been neglected for years. So I’m glad that things have finally moved forward. This area is a big challenge for investors and new tram transport solutions. The first important step is the subway’s renovation followed by surface improvements,” said the mayor of Bratislava, Ivo Nesrovnal.
The project will comprehensively reconstruct the subway and interior spaces. All escalators will be replaced, and elevators will ensure movement of mobility-impaired citizens, prams, and the elderly. All entrances will be completely renovated and tram stops improved. The subway will have a great fresh look and new retail spaces.
“The complete renovation will make the subway a transit point, and citizens and visitors will get a safe, modern and barrier-free public space with services such as food and drug store, newsagents, florist, hairdresser, and food outlets. The subway will have CCTV and 24-hour security. Thanks to professional cooperation with the city, we’re happy to revitalise this subway,” said Peter Lukeš, Chairman of the Board of Immocap Group.
Trnavské mýto will gradually see other significant changes in coming years. From November 2017, the pavements, tram platforms, and signs should be repaired, and barrier-free access provided. The municipality is also taking steps to reduce the number of kiosks and billboards.
Bratislava’s eyesore will become a place of pride in just a few months – a functional and attractive subway with visibly improved Trnavský mýto will make this a location fit for the 21st century.
The capital city began to address Trnavské mýto’s subway reconstruction in 2016 – the best way forward was a long-term lease with complete overhaul. Immocap Group was contracted as the partner with a 15-year plus optional 5-year lease agreement signed.
